ETERNAL SPARK at the MYBA Charter Show in Sanremo – Full Report
Sanremo’s Portosole marina came alive in late April with the prestigious MYBA Charter Show, a must-attend event for the global yachting industry. This year, the spotlight was firmly on ETERNAL SPARK, a standout yacht for charter, as she made her Sanremo debut.
With a tailored focus on brokers, the event provided the perfect stage to present the full capabilities of ETERNAL SPARK in an environment that encouraged meaningful engagement, high-level service demonstrations, and strategic networking.
Getting her ready, pre-show warm-up, test dinner and crew meeting
After a long journey—a genuine yacht road trip—the management team of ETERNAL SPARK arrived in Sanremo, tired yet eager to begin preparations for the charter show.
The first order of business was reallocating excess supplies from ETERNAL SPARK for transport, followed by preparing the yacht and briefing the crew on upcoming plans and responsibilities.
Friendly advice was exchanged with neighboring yacht crews on either side of the dock before wrapping up the day’s chores and heading off for a good night’s rest. But even before turning in, brainstorming took place on the best ways to attract attention and clients aboard ETERNAL SPARK.
The second day in Sanremo and one day before the start of the show
The second day began with renewed energy and focused preparation. The yacht crew readied ETERNAL SPARK, while the management team handled remaining administrative tasks and finalized the crew’s internal organization.
Simultaneously, the newest team members underwent final training and were set to become fully fledged members of the ETERNAL SPARK team as the show officially kicked off.
Other yachts had already found their places along the docks, and exhibitors were steadily setting up their stands in preparation.
The atmosphere was more relaxed than in Monaco but maintained a determined professional tone. The Sanremo edition of the MYBA charter show was intentionally centered on brokers and broker-led tours aboard ETERNAL SPARK.
While MYBA traditionally takes place in Genova, Sanremo was the selected venue this year, and it was immediately clear why. The charm of Portosole Marina—less tense than Monaco yet full of purpose—was evident. Although Monaco attracts more shipbuilders with larger yachts, Sanremo offered a grounded and broker-focused vibe.
Local businesses adapted quickly, with a warm and welcoming spirit from the townspeople. The absence of Monaco’s hyper-globalized atmosphere allowed industry players to focus squarely on business.
Weather-wise, conditions were changeable, with the sky alternating between sun and cloud and gusts of wind adding unpredictability. Excitement was building, though not yet at full intensity.
Every yacht on the dock was already well-prepared, with crews completing their final touches. By the end of the day, readiness levels had clearly escalated across the board.
One comment from an exhibitor at SOS Yachting summed it up well:
“The proximity to Monaco guarantees attention for these kinds of events. The show started in Sanremo, then moved around before becoming what it is today. At one point, even Barcelona was considered. This show serves as a true counterbalance to Monaco.”
That evening, the ETERNAL SPARK management team conducted thorough reviews and gave the crew constructive feedback to help elevate their service and performance to the highest charter standards. The crew welcomed the feedback, staying in good spirits while showing a desire to grow and improve.
The official start of the show – Day 1
It had begun! The 35th MYBA Charter Show in Sanremo officially opened, with over a hundred exhibitors and more than 50 yachts on display, ranging from 30 to 80 meters in length.
Weather concerns faded by midday as the sun came out in full force. Unlike Monaco, where a wide range of professionals visit yacht tours, ETERNAL SPARK focused exclusively on brokers—crucial players in the yacht’s long-term marketing strategy. Ocean Independence agents were active from the very first minute.
Creating a pristine first impression was essential to reassure brokers that their clients would be in expert hands aboard ETERNAL SPARK.
To that end, broker lunches were held daily on the bridge deck aft of ETERNAL SPARK, designed to strengthen booking interest. Each afternoon at around 12:30, these exclusive lunches welcomed leading brokers for in-depth discussions about filling the yacht’s charter calendar.
Hosted by the management team and Ocean Independence, the four-course meals served from the galley were crafted to leave a lasting impression.
The first day closed on a successful note, with statistics showing that between 70 and 90 brokers toured ETERNAL SPARK, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
The 2nd day of the show
This was expected to be the peak day of the show for ETERNAL SPARK, as she was scheduled to depart a day early to begin a charter in Monaco for the E-Grand Prix. Other yachts were also preparing to move toward Monaco or onward to Greece, where another charter show was set to take place.
Activity on the dock surged from 09:00 as exhibitors opened their tents and the buzz of show visitors intensified, peaking around lunch. Aboard ETERNAL SPARK, the crew delivered flawless service—whether guiding tours or managing broker lunches, their professionalism and attention to detail met the highest industry standards.
The management team took this busy window to provide the crew with targeted feedback to ensure that future charter service aboard ETERNAL SPARK would be even more refined.
Junior broker first impressions:
A few quick questions to an emerging yacht manager, just before starting a tour:
This is my first charter show. It’s a great opportunity to learn. I was nervous at first, but through client interactions and support from colleagues, I became more confident.
The biggest impact is seeing these large yachts in person. After the initial ‘wow’ fades, they start to feel familiar. I’ve used this show to improve my presentation skills—working with yachts has become a personal growth experience.
I did notice inconsistencies in industry terminology and the challenges of cultural and language differences. But those are minor details. The real value lies in working close to the sea—nothing compares to that.
The third day of the show
The final day of the MYBA charter show for ETERNAL SPARK. Tours ended at 15:00 as she was due to depart Portosole for her Monaco charter tied to the E-Grand Prix.
With this looming deadline, everything moved into overdrive—broker visits, crew efforts, and the overall energy of the show reached peak intensity. Ironically, this day was expected to be slower, yet it turned out to be the busiest of all. Broker interest surged before lunch, surpassing previous days.
Still, there was a touch of sadness as Ocean Independence and the ETERNAL SPARK management team closed the gangway to the final group of eager brokers hoping for one last tour.
At approximately 16:00 CET, ETERNAL SPARK departed Sanremo’s Portosole Marina, embarking on the next chapter of her charter journey.
ETERNAL SPARK is currently booked for the Monaco E-Grand Prix but will soon be available for charter. Brokers interested in securing this remarkable yacht for charter are encouraged to reach out now to ensure availability. For real-time updates and highlights, follow ETERNAL SPARK on Instagram.
